Testimonials

I have just completed the Leash reactivity for Professionals Mentorship Course by Jessica Wheatcraft and I can confidently say that every aspect of this experience has been exceptional, particularly the content which went above and beyond my expectations. Jessica possesses a rare ability to take theory and apply it to unique situations, make it easy to understand and engaging. Not only did she provide ample material on leash reactivity specifically with cases and videos but she included guidance on behavior consultations, assessments, interactions with clients, interactions with veterinarians, live mentorships sessions, webinars by other experts in the field and so much more.

The Leash Reactivity Mentorship program is outstanding and I highly recommend to dog professionals who want to increase their knowledge base. Jessica adeptly guides participants through the nuances of managing leash-reactive dogs, from initial client engagement to the completion of the training process. As a dog trainer with over six years of experience in addressing leash reactivity, I found the course to be immensely beneficial, equipping me with numerous practical skills that I have integrated into my training practice.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Leash Reactivity for Professionals Mentorship course. Each module was meticulously crafted, offering a wealth of linked resources that enriched the learning experience. The weekly discussions were invaluable, with Jessica attentively addressing every inquiry and guiding us in expanding our "tool box." Jessica is cool, calm, and collected, enhancing the overall learning environment. Whether you're a novice or experienced in dog training, I wholeheartedly recommend this course—it caters to everyone.

I started my own dog training business last year, which was a big, scary leap for me. Initially, I was only offering private lessons. After attending one of Jessica’s Empower Hours on home school programs, I began to wonder if I should try them, but had no idea where to start. I booked a consultation with her, and I’m so glad I did. She walked me through each step, helping me understand the best way to structure them, and answered all of my questions. I began offering home school programs for puppies, and they have taken off! If you’re looking for help learning how to offer these programs, and getting the answers you are REALLY looking for, I highly recommend working with Jessica.

Jessica's approach goes beyond conventional methods. She has taught me the importance of not labeling dogs, believing that every dog has the potential to grow beyond their perceived limitations. Jessica's clarity in teaching and her ability to understand the whys behind a dog's behavior is truly remarkable. Under her guidance, I've not only become a more confident trainer but also developed a deeper connection and understanding with the dogs I work with. Having Jessica as a mentor in dog training, especially through Zoom calls, has been an absolute privilege. Her unique style and personalized approach make each session feel incredibly personal, tailored not only to the dog's needs but also to mine as a trainer. Working with Jessica has truly been a game-changer. Her guidance has not only enhanced my skills but has also brought immense satisfaction to both myself and my clients at Pawsitive K9 Solutions. Thanks to Jessica, we're all on the path to ensuring every pup and their owner are as happy as can be. Jessica's mentorship has/is a big impact in my journey as a dog trainer.

I coach trainers through a variety of challenges – whether you have a case that you are in over your head on, a sticky client issue, or questions related to dog training and behavior, I’m here to help.

WORKING WITH COMPLEX CASES

Working with complex behavior cases is not a straight forward process, and I’m here to help. As a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) I routinely work with leash reactivity, dog to human aggression, dog to dog aggression, resource guarding, hyper arousal, and shy/fearful dogs.

ONE SIZE DOESN’T FIT ALL…

I strive to understand each individual dog and person that I work with. In doing so, I often think outside of the box to find the most effective, practical, and humane training solutions.

About Me

My love affair with dogs began as a child – I wanted nothing more than to be around them all day and tried to convince my parents for years that we needed more than two dogs… they said no, of course.

When I was in high school, I began volunteering for a local shelter, and it was there that I discovered my heart was drawn to helping dogs in any way I could. Shortly after high school, I volunteered for the Prison Pup Program at the California Institute for Women, an organization that helped inmates train service dogs. Volunteers like myself would take the dogs in our homes for the weekend to help generalize their training to the real world to prepare them for placement.
